Who are Mindfulness For Professionals?
Mindfulness For Professionals is dedicated to helping people deal with the vicissitudes of modern life. Our mission is to advance the welfare of everybody who suffers stress caused by the myriad pressures that come with a demanding career, using Mindfulness as a therapeutic technique, to give people an overall healthier and happier lifestyle.

Dr Mike Scanlan
Dr Mike Scanlan works as a Mental Health and Wellbeing Consultant and was responsible for setting up and designing the clinical model for the successful and award winning ‘Changing Minds’ Improving Access to Psychological Therapy (IAPT) service. Mike is trained to use, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Response prevention (EMDR) and Compassionate Focused Therapy approaches. He led a project supported by the Department of Health to illustrate how telehealth principles can be utilised to deliver IAPT group therapy via webinar to people with mental health problems with co morbid long-term conditions. 

More recently he has been working with a number of CCG’s to introduce a Perinatal Emotional Health Check aimed at improving the well being of women and their partners. In September Mike was the key note speaker at the Jersey Prescribing Conference where he shared his thoughts and work on mindful prescribing. Mike is the author of the widely used and well respected CBT guided self-help series of books entitled ‘Moving Forward’. These books blend theories of biblio therapy with CBT principles. The books are used in a number of IAPT services across the UK.
Megan Halewood
Megan Halewood is our Health & Wellness Lead for Mindfulness for Professionals. She graduated from Edinburgh University in 2012 with a degree in Psychology, after which she lived abroad for two years, teaching English in Vietnam and travelling across South Asia and Australia.

In 2015 Megan returned to the UK and started working for The Webinar Vet, advancing to Head of Client Relationships within two years. During this time, she completed her 200-hour Adult Yoga Teacher training and Children’s Yoga Training through Yoga Alliance and took a great interest in The Webinar Vet’s Mindfulness Series with Dr Mike Scanlan. In 2017 Megan hosted our second Mindfulness Series with Mike and set up a Meditation Membership for the vets which she co-hosted with Dr Mike Scanlan one Sunday a month. 

Megan’s Mindfulness and Meditation practice has become a part of her every day routine and plays an important part in all of her yoga classes. She is a great advocate for Mindfulness and is passionate about sharing the techniques she has learnt with as many people as possible so that they too can reap the benefits.
Lizz Jones
Lizz Jones is an established and respected Coach, with a reputation for inspiring and motivating individuals and teams in business, industry and academia.  Her work has taken her to organisations across the Public and Private sectors; and includes SME’s, large blue chip companies and several higher education institutions.

Her previous roles included a ten-year role in a senior management position within the Financial Times Group, before running her own management consultancy and training business.  She now specialises in Coaching, and works at an organisational or individual level, using her experience and qualifications in business and management.  She has coached for nearly 15 years and has hundreds of hours of coaching experience.  

Within organisations, Lizz coaches individuals and teams, helping them to gain clarity on both their own goals and those of the organisation.  Her understanding of organisational dynamics and culture helps both herself and her clients to explore the impact of their actions and behaviours on others. 

She excels at helping individuals to understand themselves & the people around them; and explore how to form great connections and relationships with others.  She is a licenced practitioner in behavioural analysis, and uses this to help develop self-awareness and emotional intelligence, improving communications & understanding between individuals and teams.
