Mindfulness For Professionals Course
Modern life can be stressful at the best of times. There are bills to pay, appointments to keep, and you can never find the end of the Sellotape when you really need it. If you have the pressures of a highly demanding job added on top of this, then even the most robust person may start to feel the stress weighing down on them.

Do you work long hours and feel its affecting your personal life? Feeling undervalued by management, and sheer work intensity have been cited as particular causes of stress, anxiety and depression. This makes people more prone to accidents at work, more likely to get into arguments and disputes with colleagues, and is also linked to physical ailments such as high blood pressure.

But it needn't be that way.

We at Mindfulness For Professionals understand that although your work may be very fulfilling, you have a wonderful family and generally feel happy, everyone has their own unique stresses at stages throughout their life, some of which can be more challenging than others.

Mindfulness For Professionals’ mission is to offer Mindfulness as a technique for professionals to prevent stress manifesting itself and developing into broader more serious issues. Our mission developed back in 2015 when we launched our first Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction webinar course to the veterinary industry in conjunction with the RCVS and Mind Matters Initiative. We rolled out a total of 3 courses over two years and had over 4,000 registrants, 98% of whom would recommend the course to a friend or colleague.

Following the phenomenal feedback we received from the veterinary community we decided to launch Mindfulness For Professionals, offering other industries the opportunity to experience the benefits of Mindfulness the veterinary community have already demonstrated. 

This Mindfulness course is led by expert speaker Dr Mike Scanlan, author of the Moving Forward series of self help books, helps you to release stress and focus your mind to give you a better experience in your work, and your life in general. Mike utilises concepts such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization, and Compassionate Focussed Therapy, these webinars are designed to help you develop strong coping skills to combat the pressures of modern life. These simple but effective techniques will enable you to get the most fulfilment out of your job and develop better relationships at home, helping you created a balanced lifestyle. 

The webinars are based purely in contemporary therapeutic practices, so don’t worry if you are dubious about the mystical aspects of meditation; it is suitable for anybody, from the spiritual to the sceptical. Work related stress is one of society's most underestimated traumas, and it is time that we started taking it more seriously. Safeguarding your psychological health is just as important as your physical health. Even if you currently do not feel especially stressed, learning these techniques can help you avoid suffering from it in the future.

You may know the feeling: you lie awake in the early hours of the morning, unable to sleep, staring at the clock as it ticks ever closer to the time when you have to get up. You spend your days feeling drained, not quite awake and not quite asleep. The cycle continues, day after day, week after week.
